Landor Records Launches New Mp3 Download Site Through ithinkmusic.com Landor Records has joined the online community of independent record labels on the ithinkmusic.com platform to launch its own mp3 download store.
The existing Landor Records website now links seamlessly with the customised download website, which offers 320kbps high resolution downloads at £0.79 per track or £7.99 per album. There is also the potential to offer other labels’ releases for sale in return for a 30% share of revenue, and Landor hopes to encourage other independent classical labels to join and collaborate in cross-selling on ithinkmusic.com in this way.
'Like many independents we were already selling our catalogue on the major download websites such as itunes or emusic, but we were looking for the right moment to set up our own download store,’ says Robert Ogden, director of Landor Records.
‘Until now there has not been a fully legal response to peer-to-peer file sharing, perhaps the quickest and most effective way to spread the word about a release. What excites us about ithinkmusic.com is that not only can we offer our own catalogue to our customers, but we can also take them in new and interesting musical directions. We hope that customers who trust our brand will also trust our taste in music!’
So far, Landor is showcasing the exotic Jazz stylings of Babel Label’s Portico Quartet, but is looking for further artists to promote alongside its own.
