Landor Productions Launches to Support New Musical Talent

A new company, Landor Productions Ltd, has been established to provide finance to commission a new library of music. The venture was founded by Guy Harvey, CEO of Landor Records, and Harry Hyman, Managing Director of the Nexus Structured Finance Limited group of companies and the Chairman is David Harrel, a solicitor who is a member of the Board of English National Opera.

Landor Productions will enable investment into the expansion of the Landor Records catalogue. This will include recordings by artists at the early stages of their careers, the performance of music which has been under-appreciated or is less well known and will provide further opportunities for artists who have recorded with Landor Records since the label's inception in 2004.

Live performances have been developed through the Landor Competition, which was established in 2005 and provides the four finalists with a concert platform in London's Cadogan Hall, a recording contract for the winner and invitations to perform at musical festivals around the world. Over 120 hopeful musicians of 27 nationalities have entered the competition this year.

This latest development is further evidence of the pioneering approach to developing and marketing new musical talent adopted by two of the founders of Landor Records, entrepreneur and music lover Guy Harvey and the classical singer Robert Ogden.

The pair established the label with the ethos of searching out and nurturing musical talent and providing recording and performance opportunities which were virtually unavailable elsewhere in the UK at the time.

"Our emphasis has always been on seeking out the most talented artists and using the best recording facilities to produce premium quality CDs, as well as developing showcase performance opportunities," said Guy Harvey.
