Competition Winners to Give Exclusive Performance Ilona Timchenko and James Barralet, winners of the Abstract Securities Landor Competition 2007, are to perform at a dinner concert in the beautiful surroundings of 49 Queen's Gate Terrace in Kensington, the house of Vernon Ellis, a businessman and philanthropist, on Monday, 8th September 2008.
Russian pianist Ilona Timchenko will perform Mozart's Sonata B-Dur, some Liszt transcriptions of Schubert songs and Brahms' fiendish Variations on a Theme of Paganini. English cellist James Barralet performs Schumann's Fantasiestucke and Beethoven's C Major Sonata with pianist Sophia Rahman. Some years ago, Mr Ellis launched the Vernon Ellis Foundation, which supports musical organisations and artists, and in a 21st Century echo of the famous artistic salons of the Enlightenment, he opens his beautiful home for musical performances of the highest quality by internationally renowned artists. He is International Chairman at Accenture, which he combines with board roles at many prestigious musical organisations: Chairman of ENO, The Classical Opera Company and The Sacconi Trust and trustee of the Royal College of Music, the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and the Florestan Trust.
