BBC Hails Latest Release by Libor Novacek Libor Novacek's latest release, of piano works by Johannes Brahms, has been selected as the 'Instrumental Choice' in the August edition of BBC Music Magazine with a 5-star review. Read the full review, the first for this release [here].
His performance of Brahms' 2nd Sonata is described by Calum MacDonald as 'a new benchmark', even when compared to performances by Katchen and Richter!
The disc is released on 15th September, and deliberately covers a wide chronological range, mapping Brahms’s path from youthful brilliance to mellow maturity and includes the comparatively rarely played early Second Piano Sonata in F sharp minor, Op 2, as well as the Klavierstucke, Op 76 and the three late Intermezzi, Op 117.
