Latest Haydn Release Scoops Gramophone Editor's Choice! Sinfonia Classica's Haydn release, out on 12 May, has been named as an 'Editor's Choice' in the July edition of Gramophone Magazine.
This is Landor Records' 2nd 'Editor's Choice' in just 9 releases. The first was for Libor Novacek's Liszt CD.
The disc, of Haydn Symphonies and Divertimenti, was also Classical CD of the Week in The Evening Standard and is beginning to garner some stunning reviews.
'We are thrilled that the disc is getting this reception, ' says Robert Ogden of Landor Records,
'We were posted an edit of the disc last year and it was clear that these performances were something special. Even better, some of the repertoire, especially the Divertimenti, had barely been recorded before.'
Landor Records would like to congratulate Sinfonia Classica, their director Gernot Süssmuth and manager Ambrose Miller on their fine achievement.
