Not many classical string quartets can claim to have played on the BBC Radio 1 Chart Show Live the day after performing Ravel in London’s Wigmore Hall. Since forming in 1998 at the Royal Academy of Music, the Pavãos have enjoyed challenging preconceptions of the string quartet. Forging their own path, they aim to make chamber music more accessible.
Highly regarded in classical concert venues across the world, the Pavão Quartet has an extensive classical repertoire. However, their versatility has led to collaborations with rock, pop and jazz artists, and an ongoing relationship with the Henri Oguike Dance Company.  |
